Hello, I’m Aisling. I’m from Dunshaughlin, Co. Meath. My career began in Social Care in 2003 working predominantly in homeless services.
Supporting people in crises and life transitions inspired me towards further studies. I qualified as a counselling psychotherapist and went on to open my own private practice, The Healing Harbour, in 2020.
Eating disorders can impact people from all walks of life. I have seen the effects throughout my time working with families in homeless services and within my private practice.
I’m passionate about normalising concerns of the mind and breaking stigmas surrounding psychological disorders. Everyone has some kind of relationship with food and sometimes this relationship can influence your emotional well-being. This is why I decided to train in the Eating Freely programme. It’s structured, genuine and relatable. With CBT skills, understanding habits, mindfulness, nutritional therapy and more, I can offer solutions in tackling binge or emotional eating in order to support you in recovering your relationship with food and your inner self.
I wake up every day feeling so grateful to be in the job I am. It’s an honour and a privilege to work with people in a therapeutic relationship, which, in itself, can lead to transformational change. I’m working online at the moment, which can offer a lot of flexibility with times with no barrier to location.
