Clinical Training

Our structured, time-limited program for Emotional Eating, Binge Eating and Bulimia is built around four core pillars of support, that work together to specifically address and resolve your client’s long standing struggle with food, weight and their own self-worth.

Eating Freely provides far more than just clinical training. We are committed to supporting Therapists and Coaches to:

  • Grow their practice through both local community and online marketing training, and HQ marketing initiatives on behalf of all our practitioners;
  • Reduce the stress of admin by introducing systems and technology that work for you;
  • Provide a peer support community of like minded professionals – because private/solo practice can be lonely! 

Week 1

All About Eating Disorders and BED

  • Overview of Eating Disorders
  • Introduction to Binge Eating Disorder
  • Overview of Eating Freely Program for Emotional Eating, Binge Eating and Bulimia

CBT for Binge Eating Disorder

  • Session 1 Intake Session and CBT Tool #1.
  • Session 2 Nutritional Rehabilitation – preparing and priming the client for their 1st Nutritional Therapy session.  CBT Tool #2.

Week 2

The Neuroscience of BED.

  • Understanding the brain’s role in maintaining binge eating as a coping strategy. Breaking Autopilots and Habit Loops. 
  • How the stress response maintains anxiety and fear.  Instant vs delayed gratification – long term implications of maintaining the disorder / introduction to barriers.

Family of Origin and BED

  • How the past continues to play out in the present.

Week 3

Barriers to Change, filters and values.

  • Uncovering conscious and unconscious blocks to change.

Payoffs and Protection.

  • How and why clients maintain maladaptive coping strategies, and how to explore this.

Environmental Audits.

  • Checking in on three key areas to ensure chances of success are optimised.

Assignments

  • Reflective writing exercise 
  • Live Online Group Call│Review of material and Q&A with Trainer – 90 mins

Week 4

Radical Self-Compassion and Self-Love

  • Introducing self-love and self-acceptance, taking full responsibility and letting go of what no longer serves.
  • Forgiveness of self and others.
  • Realistic goal setting to maintain progress after program ends. Summary of the program and ending the contract.

Assignments

  • Self-Love meditation and exercise 
  • Live Online Group Call│Review of material and Q&A with Trainer – 90 mins

Week 5

  • Review of the program and additional material/sessions that can be used where appropriate.

From Surf to Sign up

  • Initial client consultation, pre-assessment questionnaire and software requirements.
  • Marketing your new speciality – supports and resources from Eating Freely to get your name and new program out to your local community and appropriate referrers.
  • Mindfulness for Emotional Eating Workshop – format and materials.

Assignments

  • Software Package and accounts set up Checklist for submission to Eating Freely.
  • Checklist for submission to Eating Freely.

Live Online Masterclass – 3 hours

In order to attend this advanced, specialist training, you must:

  • Be a fully qualified health professional – eg. Psychotherapist, Psychologist, MLSW, MFT;

OR

  • Be a fully qualified and accredited Coach with a recognised institution.
  • Hold membership of a recognised accrediting body;

and

  • Hold current professional indemnity and public liability insurance that covers working with clients in a one to one therapeutic or coaching setting.

    In order to successfully graduate from this training, a minimum 80%  attendance at on online group calls and Masterclass is required.

Training is delivered in an online, blended learning format. 

You will combine watching pre-recorded video training, with self-directed reading and weekly live group calls online over a five-week period to complete our comprehensive course.

You can expect to need around 6.5 hours a week to complete the training program.

The Friday morning lives will be at 3pm-4.30pm GMT on the following dates:
