Hi, I’m Louise George, originally from the North of England and living happily in Cork with my husband and our two daughters since 2007. My practice is based in Douglas, Co Cork.
My passion for working with people with food/weight and body image issues came from my own experience of having suffered from anorexia and bulimia as a teenager.
During my time in England I worked for 12 years as a Counsellor in various specialist Eating Disorders services across Merseyside. I also worked for several years as an in-house Counsellor in GP surgeries working with clients suffering from anxiety, depression, grief, and relationship issues.
Having settled in Cork, I qualified as a yoga teacher and have been teaching group classes, as well as individual yoga therapy sessions since 2010 from my own yoga studio in Douglas, Cork.
I believe that yoga is a very helpful tool for building a stronger and healthier connection between the mind and body, and I have found that yoga can also help many people with food, weight and/or body image issues increase their levels of body satisfaction and gradually reduce some of the symptoms they experience.
When I met Emma I was extremely impressed with her specialist knowledge and approach to addressing disordered eating. I had no hesitation in signing up to become an Eating Freely Therapist and returning to client work. My name is Helen O’Hanlon and I am based in North Cork. I am a fully qualified coach with a first-class honours masters in personal and management coaching from University College Cork. I work both in person and online.
My background is in education having been involved in educational settings from early years care right up to adult education, I am passionate about assisting others in reaching their potential.
As a teenager and in my early twenties I struggled with body image issues and not feeling good enough about my appearance. I tried lots of diets and found myself in a perpetual cycle of feeling uncomfortable in my own body, it was only through personal development work that I learned to love my body and appreciate all that it does for me.
I listened to Emma on a podcast and I instantly felt drawn to her work and the Eating Freely program. The Eating Freely program aligns very strongly with my own values and beliefs.
I completed the Eating Freely specialist training whilst I was pregnant with my son and found it to be an informative and nurturing experience during a time that I could possibly have suffered from negative body image issues. I am originally from France and been loving the life in Cork since I came to Ireland in 2013 for what was originally just going to be a “short work experience”.
I have a background in Food Science and worked as a Sales Rep within that industry for a good few years until I realised that I wasn’t feeling fulfilled, I wasn’t living my life doing something I really loved and wasn’t living in alignment with my own values.
This is when I decided to take a 180 turn to put my passion for supporting people first and became a qualified and accredited Life Coach with EMMC.

Hello, My Name is Andrew Morrin. As a Therapist in general practice, I have noted on many occasions an unhappiness and anxiety in many clients around food and body image!
While attending a therapy conference, I met Emma Murphy and first heard about the Eating Freely Program. I was struck by how well structured and integrated the program is. Therapists as well as Nutritional Therapists combine to present a program addressing all the issues that arise from Binge Eating Disorder and Emotional Eating. I grew up on a busy family farm in the Irish Midlands and was farming full time until my late twenties when something started to change. I felt a growing urge inside me to find out my true calling and to discover what I was here to do. My only problem was I had no idea what that was!

My name is Rebecca Canning and I am an accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist with the BACP and IACP. I work in private practice in Dungarvan, County Waterford, and am a single mum with four amazing teenage daughters. I am originally from the Midlands UK, and living in Ireland for 20 years.
My experience and interest in disordered eating comes firstly from a personal perspective, having journeyed with binge eating since my late teens. It is something that affected me emotionally & physically for years, and I have only really understood just how much through undertaking the Eating-Freely training. From a professional perspective, there has been a rise in eating disorders during the current pandemic, and as a healthcare professional, I felt the need to access training to support any clients presenting with these issues.
Eating-Freely connected with me because of the content and structure of the program, as well as Emma’s vast knowledge of the subject. The resources and tools are so helpful, and I certainly experienced further clarity on managing an emotional connection to food and eating. Supporting people in crises and life transitions inspired me towards further studies. I qualified as a counselling psychotherapist and went on to open my own private practice, The Healing Harbour, in 2020.
Eating disorders can impact people from all walks of life. I have seen the effects throughout my time working with families in homeless services and within my private practice.
I’m passionate about normalising concerns of the mind and breaking stigmas surrounding psychological disorders. Hi, I’m Sinead, a Weight Management Consultant with over 12 years’ experience in the role. I am originally from beautiful Donegal but now call Maynooth in Co Kildare my home from home.
My mission in life has always been to help people see food as wonderful, an absolute blessing. I had my own early struggles and confusion around how I viewed food and am deeply grateful that I found a way to turn that around. Through no fault of our own, we have gotten many mixed messages about food and have developed complex relationships with how we eat. I love helping people to untangle that misinformed idea of what food is and relearn how to honour food as a valuable friend in our lives.
What attracted me to The Eating Freely Approach:
I have spent most of my career helping people to understand their eating behaviours using a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy approach alongside Motivational Interviewing techniques to achieve weight loss and long-term maintenance.
However, over the years, I have witnessed many people struggle on a deeper level that requires more understanding and a different approach. These are people who suffer from binge eating and I could see that whilst the approach I was using suited certain individuals, that same approach could be harmful to binge eaters and could cause even more self-doubt, shame, self-criticism and guilt. One size does not fit all.
I was eager to find a way to assist these individuals (which might surprise you, were around 30% of my presenting clients) so coming across the Eating Freely Programme was a God send. I now see this group as a distinct group who need an approach that incorporates four pillars of intervention: CBT, Nutrition, Neuroscience along with Mindfulness and Self Compassion and I would love to show you how this approach could allow you to create a new relationship with yourself and the way you see food.

Food, sex, and death, are all influential in our lives yet we struggle to talk openly and honestly about how they affect us. Food is essential to us and the least talked about, that needs to change. The Eating Freely programme is the best available way to really understand your relationship with food and begin to create a better way for you to enjoy it. To begin working together we need to arrange to meet and discuss your expectations and how we might best meet them. Two things are really important at this stage, that you want to explore changes for you, and that you and I can work together. This initial consultation is free, and from this we can arrange to meet on a regular basis.
Prior to qualifying as a counsellor, I have worked in executive and leadership positions helping me to understand the struggles and stress associated with an ever demanding and insecure workplace. My work is integrative, this means working with a combination of techniques. Those techniques combine to help my clients investigate, learn, and change their situation through working within a defined model. It is all about gaining understanding and relating to enable positive changes.
My core training is as an Integrative Counsellor. My Diploma is accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, from the Kent & Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust, Inter-Psyche Training Institute. I have also worked with West Kent Mind in a voluntary capacity for over 10 years. As an Eating Freely practitioner I have the training, competence, and confidence to really help my clients create a positive relationship with food.

Hello, my name is Deirdre Coyne. I am a qualified counsellor and registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. I have many years’ experience in formal counselling and I am passionate about helping people to lose weight and manage their weight through Nutritional Coaching and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
My specialism is helping women over forty to help them achieve permanent weight loss.
Because I spent 35 years struggling to lose weight and yo-yo dieting. My own experience has made me determined to help other women break that cycle and achieve permanent weight loss so that they have the confidence to live life fully and love who they see in the mirror.
How did I do it for myself?
I discovered the power of mindset, mindful eating and nutrition. These three tools freed me from the cycle of dieting and weight gain. I reached my ideal weight and have maintained it ever since.
What I bring to my clients is simple. It’s the ability to take control and not let what they eat and how they feel when they look in the mirror rule their lives. I give them the tools to make the right choices for them and their lifestyle.

Hello, I am Rebecca Johnston, and I am pleased to make your acquaintance, from the United States of America.
I am a Board Certified Functional Medicine Health Coach and Integrative Nutrition Health Coach with a specialty in Integrative Women’s Health and Functional Nutrition with a B.S. in Psychology and also proud to be an Eating Freely Practitioner. As long as I can remember, I have been drawn to serving others in the health and wellness space. I am passionate about the empowerment and healthy lifestyle changes that are a result from the coaching-client relationship when both parties are genuinely committed.
In brief reflection, I believe this passion began by being an observer of my father’s multitude of diabetic complications and all of my childhood being an active participant in trying to help him maintain daily balance of his blood sugar. This began my lifelong curiosity in our human relationship to food. I was also drawn to the study of psychology so chose to major in these studies in my college years. I was fascinated by how our minds work “behind the scenes” so to speak. After several years working in the healthcare field and not feeling completely fulfilled, as well as suffering through my own health issues, I discovered the opportunity to pursue a career in health coaching, but not one that simply focuses on counting calories for weight loss as the means to that end, but one that could be so much more powerful for clients as they learn to truly know, accept and love themselves just as they are first.
Through my studies, serving clients and my own valuable life experience, I have a solid foundation in what it means to be “holistically well” and balanced in life (mind, body and spirit) and am filled with compassion for those who are suffering with feeling “less than whole” and specifically those struggling with finding that peaceful relationship with food, that we all deserve. I have learned the tenets of functional medicine and coaching, which include positve psychology, mind-body connection and seeking the root cause of illness, including the intregral role of nutrition and the gut-brain connection.
When I found the Eating Freely program, it was clear that this IS the well-rounded program that also digs deeper and will help others turn their negative relationship with food into a peaceful one. The structure and combination of the 4 pillars of CBT, Nutritional Therapy, Neuroscience and Mindfulness and Compassion made perfect sense to me, AND more importatinly, spoke to my HEART. It is now my specific passion to serve those in need of this specific program’s outcomes.
